History

Master Steel was founded in February 1993 in the Gold Coast by an engineer-tradesman duo. The workshop was built by one of the business’ founding members – Chris Saunders. The building was built for large fabrication at the time, with 2400 square meters of usable space and able to accommodate 25 metre transport vehicles. Australian Industry was well and truly alive, Brisbane and the Gold Coast being a of fraction of its current size and population.

Master Steel built commercial buildings, community spaces, warehouses, business centres, and shopping complexes to name a few. It was a busy workshop that had a fabrication crew, and installation crew that performed onsite work.

In recent years, Master Steel acquired the help of Gabriel Dio – a mechanical engineer by background – in the role of managing director. The company has since moved towards the direction of niche technical fabrication. The company recruited a certified welding supervisor to control quality. Master Steel now has ISO 3834 certification making it a workshop to an international standard.

The business continues to thrive, grow and adapt to modern Australian industry. Master Steel is proud to have Australian made products that cater to both local and overseas markets. What lies in its success is the capability of its people, and the ability to translate experience into quality workmanship, every project, every day.
